Apply to Join the Board of Directors

2026-2028 NEDA Board of Directors application process is now open!

The National End-of-Life Doula Alliance is seeking new board members to serve a two-year term from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2028.

Please read the following information carefully.

The deadline for submitting the on-line application below and 2 reference letters is August 14, 2026 at 5:00 pm ET. Interviews for selected candidates will be conducted between August 19 – 28 via zoom.

If approved by the Board as a new member, you are expected to attend the board meeting on October 8, 2026. The on boarding process for new Board members will begin in September. You will also be expected to attend an on-site Board retreat in January 2027. Specific dates TBD.

NEDA is looking for a wide variety of skills, including financial experience, strategic planning, social media, membership engagement, and communication experience. You do not need to be a practicing end-of-life doula to apply yet you must be a current NEDA member (doula, doula trainer, or doula/trainer combo membership).

We are especially looking for those who can devote time and effort to building this organization and who have a good grasp of what it means to be on a non-profit board. This is a WORKING BOARD of volunteers who are expected to attend all meetings and regularly do committee work. Be prepared to commit to at least 10-15 hours per month. All meetings take place on-line in our Zoom virtual meeting room.

Below you will find the application, board of director expectations, more detailed job description, and NEDA’s bylaws. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@nedalliance.org. We are excited to hear from you!
