Become a Board Member

Serving on the working board of a nonprofit can be a very rewarding experience, and we encourage all of our members to thoughtfully consider joining our governance team. NEDA is a relatively new organization in an emerging field, and we have exciting and groundbreaking work to do. We are looking for a wide variety of skills—from strategic planning; events and educational programming; membership development and engagement; diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work; social media; PR, and  communications.

While you do not need to be an actively practicing end-of-life doula to apply, you must be a current NEDA member at the doula, doula trainer, or doula/trainer combination level. We are especially looking for those who can devote time and effort to growing and sustaining this fast-growing organization in ways that benefit all involved. We seek individuals that want to be part of an active, engaged team that works hard and loves doing so. Board members are expected to attend all meetings and regularly do work on their own in between meeting times. All meetings take place online via Zoom.

NEDA welcomes board members from diverse backgrounds who are interested in furthering the organization’s mission. Our open application process runs from July 15 to August 15 each year. Check back during this period for details on how to apply.

Become a Volunteer

The Board of Directors welcomes volunteers who are current members of NEDA (doula, doula trainer, or doula/trainer combination) and are willing and able to serve on a committee.
