About

Hi, I’m Laureen, a certified End-of-Life Doula, and a Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience in the medical field, specializing in oncology, and home hospice care.

My path to hospice work was unexpected and personal. I was asked to take on a leadership role in a pediatric hospice program. While training to work with terminally ill children and their families, my 4 year old son was diagnosed with an inoperable brainstem glioma. Given my professional background, I understood the gravity of his illness, but nothing could prepare me for experiencing it as a mother.

I was then introduced to hospice care in a profoundly personal way. This experience shaped not only my life, but the direction of my work as well. It became clear to me that supporting individuals and families through the end-of-life journey was not only my profession—it was my calling.

I went on to spend the next 20 years working in hospice care, providing emotional, practical, and clinical support to patients and families. After retiring, I explored other interests, but I felt a strong pull back to this work. I missed the intimacy and sacredness of being present with individuals during one of life’s most meaningful transitions.

Today, as an End-of-Life Doula, I offer compassionate, and personalized support to those navigating the final stages of life. I believe with the right care and guidance, death can be a peaceful and meaningful experience. It is my honor to walk alongside patients and families-providing both emotional presence and practical support-to help create a sense of comfort, dignity, and peace at the end of life.

I offer a free 30 minute consultation call to see if my services fit your needs.
