I began my nursing career in oncology and later had the privilege of caring for patients and families through hospice. Today, I teach future nurses at the University of Portland School of Nursing and Health Innovations, where my research focuses on advancing primary palliative care education. In addition to preparing nursing students, I work with faculty across the country to integrate palliative care into nursing curricula so that every nurse is better equipped to care for people living with serious illness.

While I am passionate about shaping the future of palliative and end-of-life education, my heart remains rooted in walking alongside individuals living with serious illness and those who love and care for them. It is a privilege to support people through some of life’s most meaningful and challenging moments with compassion, presence, and respect.
