Becky Robison

End-of-Life Doula
Louisville, Kentucky, USA

About

My name is Becky Robison, and my parents are dead. I became an orphan at 36 years old, and I had no idea how to handle post-death logistics. I decided to create a website where I could document what I learned throughout the process. How many death certificates do you need? How does probate work? Are there any taxes I need to pay? Within the first month, my website had 20,000 visitors. Eventually, that website became a book: “My Parents Are Dead: What Now? A Panic-Free Guide to the Practicalities of Death.”

While I was writing the book, I trained as a death doula. Now I offer doula services in the Louisville area, including pre-death planning (I can help you labor out of life in style), post-death coaching (I can guide you through the bureaucratic labyrinth that follows a loss), vigil support (I can demystify the active dying process and how to provide comfort in someone’s last days), and paperwork parties (I can explain and notarize power of attorney forms and advance healthcare directives for you and your friends).

Want a death doula who can help you laugh in the face of death? I’m your girl.
