About
The End of Life (ELP) Practitioner training program is designed to provide a historical, ethical, mythological, psychological, religious/spiritual and clinical understanding to prepare the participants with the knowledge, skills and presence needed to address the practical, heuristic, psycho-social and spiritual dimensions of dying. The HeartWay End-of-Life Practitioner Training offers one of the most comprehensive and integrative programs in the field, designed to prepare practitioners for the full complexity of end-of-life care.
The HeartWay provides a multi-level pathway that includes foundational coursework, core practitioner training, advanced supervision, and immersive in-person intensives. The curriculum integrates clinical knowledge of the dying process with communication skills, ethical practice, grief support, legacy work, and sacred/ceremonial care.
A distinguishing feature of the program is its Applied Mastery level, a 6-month supervised mentorship experience that supports real-world application, professional development, and practitioner resilience.
The training emphasizes a holistic approach—bridging medical awareness, emotional intelligence, spiritual care, and practical skills—ensuring graduates are prepared to support individuals and families before, during, and after death.
Led by Dr Andrea Deerheart, ELP, experienced faculty and enriched by guest experts, The HeartWay is recognized for its depth, experiential learning model, and commitment to developing skilled, grounded, and compassionate end-of-life practitioners.
