About

I have been in the medical field for over 40 years. I have worked in a Skilled Nursing and Rehab setting as well as currently, Home Health and Hospice. My passion for Hospice is what inspires me the most to work with patients and their families during their End of Life Journey. Helping patients to walk through this journey is very fulfilling, as there are so many misconceptions about Hospice and the goals of Hospice which I love sharing the truth of Hospice vs the myth. I work closely with one of our Cancer Clinics and Hospital in Utah. During my work with them and the education I provide for their patients, it was brought to my attention about EOL Dula’s and that I should look into becoming a Dula. I feel that the goals of hospice being a holistic approach to include more end of life goals and the patient going through this journey with their family and the support of hospice is where the focus needs to be.

I am passionate about my current role as a Hospice educator and have had much success in meeting with patients and families to educate and get started with their end of life journey. Life is a beautiful gift that we celebrate as we come into this world, we will all have many journeys we go through in life and we will all have our finale journey, I feel it is important that the patient plans their finale journey rather than someone else planning it because the patient is unable. Therefore, hospice in a timely manner is so important.

I enjoy time with my family, outdoor activities, nature, traveling, cooking and getting involved with my community and helping where I can
