Harriet Harriss
About
Professor Harriet Harriss (PhD) is a writer, educator, and INELDA-certified death doula whose practice bridges the thresholds between life, loss, and our deep connection to nature. Her writing explores how death—and our denial of it—shapes the world and the ecological crises we now face. By engaging with climate grief and the ethics of transition, she guides individuals and communities to reimagine endings as opportunities for reconnection with the more-than-human world. Her doula practice extends this philosophy into acts of presence and care—helping others navigate the liminal terrain between life and death, human and ecological time, rebirth and renewal. She reminds us that death is not only a personal passage but a planetary teacher, showing that every ending, when tended with grace, can seed new forms of life. Additional services include assistance with writing Death Directives, Letters of Testamentary, and Living Eulogies.
