About

Marie Antoinette is a trained End-of-Life Doula, Reiki practitioner, meditation teacher, artist, and hospice vigil companion with more than three decades of experience supporting individuals and families through illness, grief, dementia, and the dying process. Her work began during the AIDS epidemic of the 1990s, sitting bedside with patients who often had little support, and has since expanded into hospice care, pediatric support, legacy work, grief education, and end-of-life planning.
Certified through both the University of Vermont End-of-Life Doula Program and VDC, Marie brings a compassionate, creative, and deeply calming presence to her work. She supports clients with advance directives, post-death wishes, vigil planning, obituary and legacy workshops, family conversations, and emotional and spiritual support before, during, and after death. She believes that preparing for death with openness and intention can reduce fear and create more meaningful experiences for both individuals and their loved ones.
Marie has worked extensively with hospice patients, cancer patients, autistic children, and families navigating anticipatory grief and dementia. Her background in Reiki and meditation allows her to offer grounding practices that help clients find peace, connection, and comfort during difficult transitions.
She is also the author of children’s books that help families talk honestly and gently about death, grief, emotions, and remembrance. Her work is rooted in the belief that children deserve truthful, loving conversations about loss and that creativity, storytelling, and ritual can help families heal together.
An artist and educator as well as a doula, Marie incorporates legacy art, guided meditation, and personalized rituals into her practice, helping families create meaningful memories and sacred moments during end-of-life care.
