About

Jane (Callahan) Dornemann has been practicing as an end-of-life doula since 2018. She trained through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA) and earned a professional certificate as an end-of-life doula from the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine.

Formerly a volunteer with Duke Hospice in Durham, Jane now serves Transitions Hospice and sits on the Board of Directors for the Funeral Consumers Alliance North Carolina. She hosts educational sessions and speaks about end-of-life matters at venues in the Triangle area, including facilitating a support group for the terminally ill at the Durham Center for Senior Life. Jane is also the author of “A Death Doula’s Guide to a Meaningful Life,” available anywhere books are sold.

In addition to her doula training, Jane holds a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Hawaii and is pursuing an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at North Carolina Central University.
