Kacie Gikonyo
About
Kacie Gikonyo is an author, Registered Nurse, death doula, educator, and founder of Death Doula School, where she trains individuals across the world to support others through the end of life. With over a decade of experience in healthcare, Kacie witnessed the gaps in how death is approached, often rushed, avoided, or misunderstood.
Instead of staying inside a system that wasn’t working, she built something different.
Through her work as an author, educator, and speaker, Kacie provides education on the dying process, empowers families to make informed decisions, and equips death doulas with the tools, confidence, and real-world understanding they actually need. Her approach blends clinical knowledge with deep humanity, making conversations about death more accessible, less intimidating, and, at times, even a little lighter.
Kacie has built a global platform reaching hundreds of thousands and is a leading voice in the movement to bring death education into everyday life.
Her core belief is this: when we stop avoiding death, we start living on purpose.
