I currently work as Legacy Project Coordinator for Lifesong Hospice and Palliative Care. I have joined this organization to show my alignment with its mission and values and my desire to grow in knowledge and competency in this field of study. All of the core components of End Of Life Doula service address what I see as a crucial gap between what our health care system can provide once “curing” is no longer the goal and what our personal support system wants desperately for us to have in end-of-life care. Unfortunately, more often than not, they are grieving themselves and have usually not been given the tools by our society to process the loss they anticipate while simultaneously supporting a loved one through such a crucial transition. It is also important for me to state that I absolutely believe that our energy/spirit goes on after our physical death and that death is not the end of our energy.
