I have a 46-year nursing career and am a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. Throughout my years caring for patients with cancer, AIDS, and the elderly, I developed an interest in end-of-life care. I saw many patients die alone, and many never had conversations with their loved ones regarding their wishes.
