About
Doula Education and Training regarding the EOL Choices of VSED (voluntarily stopping eating and drinking) and MAID (medical aid in dying). Education and training includes overview of the state and Federal law, preparation for both MAID and VSED, consultation of the individual using the EOL choice as well as family members and other support persons, navigating the collegial relationship with hospice and palliative care providers, the selection of caregivers experienced with VSED and MAID, the physiological, emotional and spiritual aspects of these choices, compassionate assessment of the care team and family, as well as self care of the doula.
