About
Joanna Mansfield is a Registered Nurse, Certified Care Manager (CMC), and End-of-Life Doula dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of aging, serious illness, caregiving, and life’s final chapter with compassion, clarity, and dignity.
With nearly 20 years of experience in geriatric care, Joanna has served in clinical, regulatory, and executive leadership roles, including the New York State Department of Health, Atria Senior Living, and as Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Seniorverse, where she works to advance person-centered care through innovation and technology. Joanna’s work as an End-of-Life Doula is a natural extension of her nursing career. She believes that preparing for the end of life is ultimately about honoring how we live, fostering meaningful conversations, preserving identity, and ensuring that every person is seen beyond their diagnosis. Her practice supports individuals and families through advance care planning, serious illness, legacy work, caregiver education, and emotional and practical guidance before, during, and after death.
A sought-after speaker and educator, Joanna is passionate about advancing dementia care, empowering caregivers, and helping healthcare professionals embrace the art of presence alongside clinical expertise. Her approach blends evidence-based practice with deep compassion, grounded in one guiding belief:
People don’t stop being themselves because they become ill.
