I understand how overwhelming it can feel to make important decisions while trying to care for someone you love. Before end of life, Doula’s can work with the person on legacy projects or other desired areas. Doula’s follow wishes of the person making this transition, with dignity, emotional and spiritual support as requested. They also provide support to the family and close friends. Doulas provide non-medical support and may work alongside hospice.
I have been a caregiver and have also held vigil with some as well. Planning ahead and gathering the persons wishes and planning ahead can provide a peaceful and less hurried time. However, that can’t always be done as transitions and timing aren’t in our hands, but we always try to do our best to follow all the wishes we can.
I have healthcare experience and degrees and certifications. This extraordinary honor of providing non-medical support is an important part of the process, that Doula’s can provide some of those tasks, while you take care of your loved ones.
